Once each year, on July 14th, it's a special celebration day for our wonderful netlabels out there: The Netlabel Day. Quite a page full of releases offered via the official page these days. Unfortunately, only a selection of them released on or close to the date this year. But I picked carefully to have them on spot or very near. A colourful mix of styles await you with the numerous albums and EPs and singles.

Time and again I go back to the style and sound that sparked my love for electronic music; that is back in the 1970s/1980s, the so called golden age for traditional EM. Back then, it was the greats like Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre, Software, and others who gave me the thrills. I still enjoy their music, also the current songs they produce. But mostly it's the "younger" generation, I enjoy to have on the show nowadays. This edition is a mixture of both with older and newer blood in a mix.

The nice thing about recent hot weather is that undressing at the doctors gets easier. On the other hand, it's not so comfortable wearing soaking wet shirts and pants. Well, one should not complain, other endure worse. Still, extreme warmth is no fun for your body and brain, especially, if you are not used to it. Therefore, I took the opportunity to fetch some longer tracks for this edition, so I did not have to talk that much. Hehehe.

It's deep into summer, and we are out for the happy and exciting things in life. Well, speaking northern hemisphere. One of my favourite is being curious about new sounds and ways for aural journeys. For once, how regular guests are developing in their style and composition. And to discover new musicians, of course.

Heat off, beat on! That's the general motto of this edition, where we come back to some more "robust" electronic music. Well, not the hardest version, but still. And it feels good to finally breathe normally and getting back to some movement. Some of the tracks on this show are waiting for a while, so great timing to have them finally on.

This is definitely too hot for my Chinchilla, to quote some greats in electronic music. I'm currently melting away in my studio, and if you were to put some cheese onto me, I would make a good bacon al forno. Hopefully Sunday will bring a change, as otherwise I cannot think straight anymore. Thus, we are not going too hot with this edition, where I have some easy listening and new agy stuff for you on the playlist.

There is a heatwave rolling up in Europe, and we can already feel it with nearly 35 C today. Which makes it a jump of about 15 degrees since last Friday. Such changes make me feel tired and worn out, so there is no place for beats on tonight's show to rock my body. We are back in space, with some of the most wonderful soundscapes to please our ears and minds. Join the ship for a spacey journey to places, where the force is still strong and soothing.

Whatever you expect, but there is definitively no soccer inside this podcast. Rather, tonight it's all about repeating patterns and sequences and soundscapes that represent the modern state of Berlin School and inspired music. This style always is intreaguing to me, as it is telling an emotional sound-story from start to end, which simply does not need any words spoken or sung. Quite some journey to experience first hand, without physical travel. Always great to relish the ride.

What is it like for you opening a new music album? What are you expecting? Things, you already know? Elements of surprise? Back in my youth it definitely was the latter, buying LPs by the cover and description, not knowing, what discoveries were to be made. It's quite similar still today, as I listen to so many new artists and releases. And I am more than often positively suprised by what I get to hear. As I am with all the music on tonight's edition, of course.
