This week marked thee sprint to the finish regarding the General Data Protection Regulation. Quite a fuss on most websites. I barely got as many mails as these past days, for updating the privacy policy or asking for re-confirmation to send mails and newsletters. And exactly todday marks the spot where the new European GDPR is set active. Well, I had to do some work on my own, finding out about some newsletter system needing an update to conform to GDPR. And finally it's kind of done. I'm curious what comes next. But for tonight, I need serenity, especially with respect to music. Back from a weekend family trip, I am up for a new edition of electronic music. And I hope you are, too. Quite some events coming up, so more pointers to where to go for fine live electronics on this show. If you are taking a trip or two, hopefully you have good weather on the way. I did not, and it's definitely no fun riding the highway with rain dropping your sight to about 50 metres. And if it does not work out, some of the events offer virtual tickets as well, so you can even go without going and "be there" even you cannot make it. Ok, I'm off for a longer weekend to catch up on sleep. So it is done. The first phase of creating the syndae CD is finished, all submissions registered and send out to the jury. Thanks so much to all who participated in the call! Well, now the artists' works are done, the jury and I are up next. Preparations are on-going. And while an exciting part of the process is done, and the next one is up, I need some music to ease my heart and soul and mind. There's plenty of new stuff on my playlist, but also some events that are afoot. It's just one weekend and the deadline of the call for tracks for the syndae CD is about to close. I can say I am quite excited about putting together an album, and I already have fabulous tracks on my drive to be selected from. Thankfully, it's not me who has to decide which ones to take. I am sorry for any of the tracks not to make it. So, currently I am thinking about the packaging of the album and its design. And actually the name. Any suggestions on how such a compilation should be named? Difficult decision. Well, fortunately I have quite some fresh music to listen to, while running my neurons hot. Excellent releases, I might add, and you will get fresh music by ['ramp] (No Sleep 'til Wilmersdorf), EFSS (Tidal Shift), K.Markov (Excerpt Two), Otarion (Under Surface), Akikaze (Blue Sky Events).

Two weeks ago we still had snow, now it's quite over 30C at our place. Definitely a time to slow down and have the music at a not too high pace. And we are visiting the earlier era of electronic music, at least in style and feeling, as the music of course is young and recently released. While you will have a relaxed time with syndae, it is still very intense and thrilling to listen to. Well, nature greens up and blinds go down for the sun. Best time to lean back and listen carefully to tracks by TaboTago (Kymatica), Loomeer (Anesthetic 9-16), Michael Hodges (Explorations), Yves Potin (Life - Unfolding), TFSL (III).

Do you believe in superstition? Black cats crossing, lucky pennies (or the equivalent in your local currency), knocking on wood ... I guess the list is endless, and different between countries as well. Now, today is Friday the 13th, which is considered bad luck in the Western world. There is actually a word for it: "Paraskevidekatriaphobia". At least they do such words in non-german languages, too. But anyway, It's called superstition, because its considerred an irrational belief. Well, who knows. Not at all bad, but maybe a bit darker, comes tonights edition of syndae. Space, the final frontier. When thinking about drifting through the vast emptiness -imagine there only is about 4E-21 percent of matter in the universe- it's mostly some languorous or serene sound that comes to mind with respect to music. At least to me. Although there is the genre of space music, which, well, yes, does somehow fit to travelling through space, but it's not my first thought. So, when thinking of space in general, and this does not have to be outer space, it could simply be a large plain, some field, usually a peaceful and serene sight, it's either something majestic or ambient reflecting my impressions. And ambient it is for tonight's edition. The one time, where 30 minutes seem quite short for a show. And thus, there are only three tracks on tonight, composed by The Long Light (Hiraeth), Jeff Greinke (Before Sunrise), and Jaja (Music For Space Observation).

Not everybody celebrates Easter, although it outgrew its religious meaning similar to christmas. The term Easter Egg got even more popular, not for the festivities but as a hidden feature in computer games, movies, and more. To me, electronic music and relatives are quite a collection of Easter Eggs within music in general. With only a few exceptions, most people rather listen to the ever repeating popular and furbished mirror-bright artists. Well, they miss out a lot, as to be heard on tonight's edition with extraordinarily fine tracks by Vangelis (Direct), Otarion (Under Surface), Ian Boddy & Erik Wøllo (Meridian), Dreams Beat (Dreams Beat), Eagle (The Last Kosmonaut), and Jarguna (Pareidolia).
